De Weiglhuys Farm is a working farm situated in the beautiful Tulbagh Valley, surrounded by the mountains, vineyards and countryside that make this part of the Western Cape so special.
Just 6.5 km from the picturesque town of Tulbagh, the farm offers a peaceful rural setting while still being close enough to enjoy the valley’s wine farms, restaurants and attractions.
Life on the Farm
There is something special about staying on a working farm. The days are peaceful, the surroundings are natural, and there’s always a little bit of farm life happening around you.
Guests staying at The Lark can enjoy the tranquillity of the farm and experience the sights and sounds of rural Tulbagh at their own pace.
The farm is also home to an abundance of birdlife, with guinea fowl often wandering around the property. Cape tortoises can occasionally be spotted making their slow journey through the farm, while the beautiful barn owls and Cape eagle-owls may be heard — or even seen — at night if you’re lucky.
And the wildlife can sometimes surprise you. Our camera trap has even captured a honey badger passing through the farm!
Meet the Farm Dogs 🐾
You won’t arrive at De Weiglhuys Farm without being greeted by our four friendly resident farm dogs!
They’re very excited to welcome new visitors and may come running to say hello — and, if they’re particularly enthusiastic, you may even receive an energetic jump or two.
They’re a much-loved part of farm life and are always curious to meet our guests.

De Weiglhuys Farm is perfectly positioned for exploring the beauty of the Tulbagh Valley. From peaceful country roads and magnificent mountain scenery to vineyards, wine farms, restaurants and local attractions, there is plenty to discover in the surrounding area.
The farm entrance is conveniently situated between the two main entrances to Tulbagh, making The Lark an ideal base for exploring the valley and everything it has to offer.
